Think Before You Post

Dec 22 2007

A few weeks ago, Jonathan Morrow wrote an excellent post on 7 Warning Signs That You’re Drunk on Your Own Words. In this commentary, he discusses how bloggers can, at times, post things on their blogs while under the influence of their own words. I think I need to read that post a few more times.

Well, as much as I dislike the taste of crow, it seems, after just a little bit of reflection, that I am going to have to eat a healthy portion of it. A couple hours ago, or so, I dugg, then blogged about the misfortune of another person. This person had some downtime on their site, a very popular site at that. Regardless of the reason, downtime is downtime and it is nothing to laugh about.

So, as my way of attempting to right my wrong in this situation, I’m publicly apologizing for being a jackass. John, please accept my apology.

With that said, I think it is fair to have some fun at my expense now.

I’m a Jackass

Moral of the story… Be careful what you post on your blog. You could easily end up looking like an ass.

  1. [...] got cool readers that ping us when there are problems. Thanks Bill! Apparently it caused a little stir, and many people are making a bigger fuss out of it then us. So we had a bit of downtime, shit [...]

  2. HAHAHA!!! Poetic Justice!

I’ve been fighting with my WP powered article directory all morning trying to get the MySQL load down on my server. You might have noticed several 500 Internal Server errors. Apparently Wordpress doesn’t handle nearly 50,000 articles very well.

 Oh man, the irony.

  3. Wordpress needs a database makeover lol.
