TwakeUp! Breast Cancer Effects Us All!
Whether it’s your mother, sister, daughter, wife, friend or colleague, chances are, you already know someone who has been affected by this disease. The fact is, though, that this is a treatable disease, and many who have it, go on to live long, fruitful and enjoyable lives. However, that isn’t possible without continued research and support. I’m reaching out today to help raise awareness for breast cancer research, but I’m also here to open some eyes.
Did you know that Breast Cancer affects MEN TOO! Yes, absolutely! Men can have breast cancer! Why is this not more commonly known? Why is it that the words “Breast Cancer” always imply a woman’s health. It doesn’t! While Breast Cancer is far more common in women than men, the fact is, men can have Breast Cancer too!
I have been fortunate enough to have known some Breast Cancer survivors in my life and the courage that these people showed through their treatment and recovery was nothing short of inspirational. My family also has a long history of Cancer survivors and victims. As with ALL forms of Cancer, this is a matter close to my heart. No pun intended.
If you do nothing else for yourself and your fellow people today, do this. Share the resources listed bellow along with anything else you know of that educates about this disease. Take just a few moments out of your day to either donate to legitimate Breast Cancer causes, to share your own experiences, to spread social awareness and to give back to the greater good of our world.
You never know, one day, that good you put out there, may need to come back to you for Cancer treatment. Food for thought. Contemplate it well.
